HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Plenty of sunshine is expected for our Sunday as winds increase out of the west southwest at 10 to 20 mph. Warmer temperatures are expected as highs push into the mid to upper 60s. Winds will stay a bit breezy out of the south southwest at 10 to 20 mph for Sunday night, that will keep overnight lows a little warmer. They will range from the upper 30s west to the upper 40s east. Another temperature jump is anticipated on Monday as highs reach the mid to upper 70s. Winds will be fairly strong for the eastern two-thirds of the area. They will be out of the south southwest at 15 to 25 mph.

Late Monday afternoon into Monday evening, a fast-moving cold front will move through from northwest to southeast. Behind that cold front, winds will become north northwesterly and will be very strong. Sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 55 mph will be possible. This strong wind will usher in some colder temperatures. Along with some extra clouds, there will be a slight chance of light rain. If it’s cold enough, there could be some snowflakes, but little to no accumulation is anticipated. By Tuesday morning, temperatures will down into the 30s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be cool days around the area. Highs on Tuesday will be in the mid to upper 40s. winds will remain breezy out of the north northwest at 15 to 25 mph. Tuesday night’s lows will drop back into the 20s. Highs on Wednesday will make it to the upper 40s and low to mid 50s.

Beyond Wednesday, warmer temperatures will be returning for the rest of the week into the weekend. Thursday’s highs will get to the upper 50s and low to mid 60s. Friday and Saturday will get to the low to mid 70s. If you’re making Easter plans, temperatures should be well into the 70s. These mild/warm temperatures should last right into the following week.
